The wait is finally over - the Apple iPhone is now available to
buy in the UK!
Following the massive success of the iPod, and having already sold over 1 million
units of the iPhone in the US, Apple release their latest must have gadget today.
O2
are the sole network provider and pricing is fixed at £269 for the 8GB
model, plus a monthly contract from £35 a month.

LG KU990 Viewty
The LG KU990 is a touch screen enabled mobile phone, similar to the Prada model, but offering improvements in certain areas. It boasts a 5 mega pixel camera and HSDPA as useful updates. The KU990 also features software to enable users to edit and upload video directly to You Tube directly from the handset.
The LG KU990 has a large 3" 262K color TFT touchscreen display with a 240 x 400 pixels resolution. The camera uses Schneider-Kreuznach optics and xenon flash, and is capable of shooting quality video clips with 30 fps. There is also a secondary VGA videocall camera. It is up to a user to choose from shooting in auto focus or manual focus mode with ISO sensitivity of up to ISO 800. Storing images, tracks, clips or files is easy with the onboard 170 MB memory, expandable up to 2GB through the microSD memory card slot. Music fans will like the MP3/MPEG4 player and FM radio. The LG KU990 connectivity capabilities include Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support and USB 2.0.

Sony Ericsson K850i
The Sony Ericsson K850i is another step forward for Sony Ericsson and the Cyber-shot brand, combining a 5 mega pixel camera with many of the excellent features already seen on the K810. The Sony Ericsson K850i does feature improvements to the camera interface and a new media browser that allows pictures to easily be roated and viewed. The camera cover is now automated and the screen size has grown to a 2.2 inch TFT display. Perhaps the most important addition is the move to HSDPA support, making this the first 3G and EDGE enabled handset Sony Ericsson have produced, and offering full network support in the process.
The Sony Ericsson K850i Cyber-shot features a second video calls camera, Bluetooth, USB connection, FM radio and a M2 memory card slot. A 512mb card is included in the box. Interestingly Sony Ericsson have decided to offer a dual card support slot on the K850i which can host not only the M2 standard but also Micro SD too. All these options add a little to the weight but the size remains the same as the K810.
The Sony Ericsson K850 offers a neat solution to navigation with the keys positioned around the number 2 and 5 keys to allow the larger screen to be used. The overall design is functional but certainly individual with colour accents down both sides.

Nokia N81
The Nokia N81 is a slide phone aimed at the music and gaming markets. It is available in two versions, the only difference being the memory capacity. One contains a 1GB memory with a Micro SD card slot for expansion. The other an 8GB memory for storage, which is not expandable.
In addition, the Nokia N81 offers an MP3 player and FM radio, 3.5mm socket for headphones and Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP for wireless connectivity to other stereo output devices. The Nokia N81 further emphasizes its multimedia focus with dedicated music keys, a 2.0 mega pixel camera for still and video shots and 3G for faster network access speeds.
The Nokia N81 uses the Symbian Series 60 operating system, Quad band EDGE and WiFi for maximum file flexibility and network connection options.
