When Nokia launched the first of the Prism range, the 7500 earlier this year it did a good job of dividing opinion with the love-or-hate looks. One of the main gripes made by various sectors of the community were the average features bestowed upon it, but to a lot of consumers the sheer uniqueness of the design rendered this irrelevant.

Now Nokia are preparing to launch the next model in this range, the 7900 Prism, and it is sure to appease those who were put off by the 7500’s somewhat average performance.

Now sporting 3G technology for video calls and high-speed data transfers as well as a 16million colour ‘Original LED’ display which is reputed to have unrivalled colour clarity and brightness. Considering the quality of the display on the original Prism, this is sure to be one of the 7900’s main selling-points.

The 7900 Prism will come with the previously seen distinctive triangular keys, and a unique display setup known as “living wallpaper,” Odd as it may sound, the display will change dynamically dependent on time of day, signal strength and battery life. This will certainly ensure that the 7900 Prism is by far the most unique mobile phone on the market in terms of design.

With design of mobile phones in general showing signs of stagnation, it’s great at last to see someone trying to add some unique twists to what is possible. If it lives up to the billing, the 7900 Prism will certainly appeal to those looking for something a little but different.
