Nokia 6301

Not so long ago Nokia released one of their first serious entries into the ‘slim-phone’ market, the much-acclaimed 6300. All things considered, this was a very impressive mid-range handset, as it had pretty much everything you could want. It had the typical simple Nokia interface, user-friendly controls, a good-range of features, as well as being very durable thanks to the stainless steel-casing. Not to mention that it was very reasonably priced as well, making it appeal to a large section of the market. All of this amounted to it being a resounding success.

Now Nokia are gearing up for the launch of an updated version, the 6301. In terms of the design, there isn’t any major difference between the 6300 and its newest incarnation, the 6301. The only exception appears to be a slight adjustment to the centre D-pad which, after seeing the official promotional shots, seems slightly more raised than with the earlier 6300.

The integrated features are where the differences start to become apparent with Wi-Fi on UMA and a higher capacity of built-in memory added (which has been upped to 30MB) and still maintaining near enough the same dimensions as the 6300, though the weight has gone up slightly.

Though not destined to be a major leap from the 6300, with the 6301 Nokia are clearly looking to build on its success and add what is an unexpected bonus of integrated Wi-Fi.
