To start off with, the N95 8GB looks much better in black than the dull variants of silver that came with the original model, and for a change fingerprints aren’t too much of a concern. As you can probably tell by the title, the new N95 comes with 8GB of built in memory, pushing it firmly in competition with the iPhone, and this has now negated the need for an expandable memory card slot. The N95 8GB now comes with a much improved battery, and all early signs seem to confirm that the lifespan has been much improved, as this was one of the main faults with the original N95. The screen size has been upgrade from 2.6” to 2.8” and is still as impressive as ever. To accommodate this, the size of the controls around the main menu keys has been reduced and this has actually improved the ease of use. To presumably make room for some of these changes, the camera lens shutter has been removed, with an embedded lens now offering protection against scratches and finger marks. Overall, the N95 8GB is a worthy successor to the original model incorporating enough improvements to known consumer complaints and additional features to justify an upgrade. |
