Following the massive success of the iPod MP3 player, it wasn't long
before we started to ask "what's next from Apple?".
Well this is the answer - The Apple iPhone. It combines the 8GB storage
and music playing capability of the iPod with mobile telephone and web
browsing functions in a trademark slick, intuitive interface and cool
design.
Apple has crammed the iPhone full of features and a multi-point
touch-screen system puts it all under your control. Navigating around
the iPhone is quick and easy, tap what you want, stretch a picture between
two thumbs to zoom, rotate the iPhone and the internal accelerometer
detects the motion and rotates the image to go from portrait to landscape
mode for pictures, video and even websites!
The Apple iPhone works as a full music and video iPod, and with a large
widescreen offers great entertainment on the move. Texting on the iPhone
is simple too, with texts visible as conversations, allowing you to
scroll through and quickly go over what has been said. Pictures can
be taken on the in-built 2 megapixel camera and sent via e-mail on the
iPhone in seconds with fast navigation, resizing, rotating and cropping
to help you find and adjust them as you like.
The Apple iPhone is also great for internet browsing, with the large,
clear LCD screen and Safari browser, the iPhone allows you to view a
web-page from a zoomed out view, choose a part to zoom into, rotate
between tall/widescreen modes to suit and center on features like images
to see them in full-screen quality. The Apple iPhone supports the Google
Maps service too, so for instance you can use your iPhone to find restaurants
in a town, choose one, get directions and even click on their telephone
number to dial and make a booking right then and there!
Other internet-based applications on the Apple iPhone are available
through the Widgets system, giving you features like the weather, stocks
and more all live direct to your phone! The e-mail system on the iPhone
is another superb tool, allowing you to read and write multimedia e-mails.
Writing them with the iPhone couldn't be easier as text is handled using
a full on-screen QWERTY keyboard with predictive text and correction,
cutting down key presses and speeding up input.
